Arwen McCain is an author, artist, and musician. She lives with her family in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. When she is not writing epic fantasy novels, you’ll most likely find her mentoring aspiring teen writers or tending her ever-expanding gardens. She also enjoys longsword fencing, archery, traveling, and reading SFF novels.

Additionally, Arwen founded Middle-earth News, a Tolkien-inspired fan site, back in 2011. While she has since retired from running the site, during her time as Executive Director, Arwen hosted multiple podcasts and made guest appearances on numerous radio shows and YouTube channels. In 2012, USA Today interviewed her regarding the site’s success, and in 2013, Warner Brothers invited Arwen to The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug world premiere to interview the entire cast.

Throughout her time running the site, Arwen interviewed many amazing individuals, some of which include Michael Tolkien, Douglas Gresham, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lily, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Hadlow, John Rys-Davies, Dan Hennah, Richard Taylor, Daniel Falconer, Peter Lyon, Ian Brodie, Ted Nasmith, Joe Gilronan, Corey Olsen, and Dimitry Fimi.
