It’s been a busy few weeks but that’s only because a lot of progress has been made on several levels. The momentum seems to be revving up every day and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Let me break down everything that’s been going on behind the scenes for you.

To kick things off, my publishing company, Cu Rua Publishing LLC is up and running. It was a huge hurdle getting it going, but the site is up at last (still a work in progress) and all the “businessy” bits of getting something like that going have been completed.

Alignment, The Stone Key Chronicles Book Two, is set to officially hit 60% this week on its first draft. I am still on track to finish it by the first of November despite the large amount of to-dos I have had interrupting my daily writing time. I’ll be honest, it’s incredibly hard not to talk about all the exciting things happening in the second book! Usually, when writers hit the midsection of a novel they struggle with the plot dragging, but if my own excitement is any indication, that won’t be a problem for this novel.

On to the big one, Awakening, The Stone Key Chronicles Book One! The majority of my time has been spent on several big-ticket items for the book.

• A very talented artist who specializes in illuminated manuscripts and Celtic-inspired art has begun work on a world map for my novels. Come this winter, it will be available for sale in several poster sizes on Cu Rua Pub’s Shop website! (More on the artist and that project to come in a future post.)
• If you’ve been following my writing’s progress, you will not want to miss out on #TSKCtuesday! Every Tuesday the series social channels post new reveals about Awakening, such as character traits, quotes, and world details. Be sure to visit my Books page and follow TSKC on your preferred social channel!
• The pub song I recorded back in early June is done, has been mastered, and the private QR code link to the track has been officially added into the novel’s manuscript files. Additionally, all the ISBNs associated with the novel have been purchased and the interior manuscript editing stage is officially complete.
• This brings us to the last item, which is the topic of this post: ARCs! Advanced Reader Copies of Awakening are now available for book reviewers in EPUB format. As I said, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes! It’s hard to believe it’s nearly August already. Summer has flown by! Despite my hectic schedule, I have made sure to pause on a daily basis, enjoy the outdoors, and embrace calm moments.
